Vague

In the summer of 2013, I roamed the northern coast of France, among the wild rocks that had been struck for thousands of years by the waves of the Atlantic. In contemplating this raw landscape, I sought to capture the contrasted synesthesia of nature’s different materials. In a constant tension, I confronted the apparent solidity of the rocks, but also the rupture imposed by the erosive forces of the sea.

En été 2013, j’ai arpenté la côte au nord de la France, parmi les rochers sauvages frappés depuis de milliers d’années par les vagues de l’Atlantique. Dans la contemplation de ce paysage brut, j’ai cherché à capter la synesthésie contrastée par les différentes matières de la nature. Dans une tension constante, je me suis confronté à la solidité apparente des rochers, mais aussi à la rupture qu’imposaient les forces érosives de la mer.
